Fried Green Tomatoes
Ingredients:
30 Thick Slices Green Tomato
4 Cups APF
3 Tbs Garlic Powder
3 Tbs Onion Powder
2 tsp Cayenne
1 Tbs Paprika
1 Tbs Old Bay
S&P To Taste
4 Eggs For Egg Wash (optional)
Procedure:
In a large bowl, mix together all dry ingredients, and in another bowl mix egg wash if using
You can choose to dredge dry, but an egg wash is recommended
Dredge your tomato slices in the flour mixture and egg wash, before frying either in a skillet over high heat, or deep frying if preferred. If using egg wash, recommended two coats of flour
Set cooked tomatoes on a paper towel or wire rack to drain any excess oil
Recommend serving over mixed greens with bacon jam and scallions
