Hot Milk Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 C. sugar

  • 4 eggs, beaten

  • 2 C. AP flour

  • 2 ½ tsp. baking powder

  • ½ tsp. Salt

  • 4 Tbsp. butter

  • 1 C. milk

  • 1 ½ tsp. vanilla or almond extract

  • Confectioners’ sugar for dusting

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease & flour a 9x9” square pan or bundt pan.

    Beat together the sugar and eggs until fluffy. 

    Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt, then add it into the sugar mixture.

    In a small saucepan, combing the butter and milk and gently bring just to a boil. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the batter, mixing well. Add in the vanilla. Pour into the prepared pan.

    Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean . Cool on a wire rack. 

    Dust with confectioners’ sugar.

    *Can be served with fresh seasonal fruit, ice cream or whipped cream.
