Does the idea of ordering wine with dinner send you into a tail spin? Overwhelmed by the variety of bottles in your local wine shop? Then you’ll want to join Chef Gwyn and Carolyn Hart, of Patuxent Wine & Spirits, for the next in their wildly popular Wine Down Wednesday series. These two wine experts will have you feeling comfortable in the world of wine in no thyme! In this class we will be discussing Old World and New World wines. The biggest difference between Old World and New World wines is geographic. “Old World” refers to the traditional winegrowing regions of Europe, while “New World” refers to everything else. The climates of New World wine regions are often warmer, which tends to result in riper, more alcohol, full bodied and fruit-centered wines. Old World wines tend to be lighter-bodied, exhibiting more herb, earth, mineral, and floral concepts. Join us as we take an in depth look into these different styles of wine.

Your ticket includes 5 tasting portions along with food pairings.
