Celebrate Oktoberfest on October 23rd at No Thyme to Cook

Try a brew, eat a brat, and celebrate fall at Southern Maryland’s best kept secret for foodies

Solomons, MD, October 13, 2021: Join No Thyme to Cook (NTTC) on Saturday, October 23, 2021, for its first-ever Oktoberfest. Sample a wide variety of beers while enjoying classic Bavarian and local favorite foods. Learn how to home brew and cook with beer in one of the free mini classes. Shop handmade crafts, all while listening to live music. Not to mention, try your hand at games and take part in a German costume contest! The festival runs from 11 am to 7 pm. Timed tickets for entry are required to attend.

At NTTC’s Oktoberfest, guests will be able to enjoy seasonal beers from a variety of local breweries: Mully’s, Scorpion, Gypsy, and Greenspring breweries all will be in attendance. Barr Hill Gin also will be providing honey-based spirits, and our very own bar will be offering an assortment of beers. To add to the fun, Steamers will provide a festive menu of brats, soft pretzels, beer cheese, and hot dogs along with perennial local favorites—crab balls, fried shrimp baskets, French fries, and hush puppies. Southern Maryland Bake House will serve up mouth-watering desserts, while Calvert Kettle Corn be available at the bar.

Complimenting the drinks and food will be an afternoon of free beer-themed cooking classes. Games, such as a stein holding competition and a costume contest will crown Mr. and Mrs. Oktoberfest. In addition, several vendors will offer their crafts: blacksmith items from Chesapeake Blade and Tool, www.facebook.com/chesapeakebladeandtool; handcrafted wood items courtesy of DeBons Woodworks; sea glass art from Myona’s Shack, www.myonasshack.com; spices and herbs from Nativo Condiments & Seasonings, www.argentinechef.com/shopnativo; and cigars from The Toasted Foot Cigar Lounge, www.thetoastedfootlounge.com. All this, and live music all day long.

“The German festival of Oktoberfest is synonymous with beer and food,” says Chef Gwyn Novak, owner of NTTC. “We are excited to share a large selection of beers with our guests, together with delicious foods and cooking classes and crafts. When you add in live music and great games—including a special costume contest—we think this will be the perfect time to shed the covid blues and enjoy a traditional celebration.”

Pre-event tickets are just $12/person 21+, which includes one drink from the NTTC bar, or $7/person for those aged 7 to 20 years old. Tickets are available now online at www.NoThymeToCook.com.
