Caprese Salad with Crostini

  • 2 ripe tomatoes, sliced

  • 1 bunch fresh basil, torn

  • 1 rounds fresh mozzarella, sliced

  • 8-10 baguette slices

  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled, whole

  • Aged balsamic vinegar

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Sea salt or other finishing salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

Lightly toast the baguette slices, then rub with garlic and brush with olive oil.

Arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices atop the fresh greens in a decorative pattern on a serving dish, with baguette slices in the middle. Top with the torn basil. Drizzle with oil and vinegar. Season with sea salt and pepper.
