Caprese Salad with Crostini
2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
1 bunch fresh basil, torn
1 rounds fresh mozzarella, sliced
8-10 baguette slices
2 cloves garlic, peeled, whole
Aged balsamic vinegar
Extra virgin olive oil
Sea salt or other finishing salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Lightly toast the baguette slices, then rub with garlic and brush with olive oil.
Arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices atop the fresh greens in a decorative pattern on a serving dish, with baguette slices in the middle. Top with the torn basil. Drizzle with oil and vinegar. Season with sea salt and pepper.
