If it’s not crab season in Maryland, it’s probably time for our next best known seafood - oysters! Eaten in every form - from raw to steamed, fried to scalded - oysters are one of our most beloved delicacies. If you’re new to the area and you want to get in on the game, join us for our new Seafood Series. One Saturday each month we’ll explore the world of Chesapeake Bay cuisine in all its glory. And this month, we’re talking oysters - how to catch them, open them and cook them. You don’t want to miss it!

In this class we will be hosting Marty Hyson, the champion of the 40th Annual National Oyster Cook-off! He will be sharing his award winning recipe with us and you’re going to love it! Here’s a little bit about Marty:

”I am a father of 6 grandfather of 10 with one on the way. I am a home cook, love to prepare food for anyone.
I have won the Grand Prize on 3 occasions. (1996/2002/2019)
Started the cook off with my step father , after his passing, I am keeping the tradition alive.
I said after my 3rd grand prize I would retire, but that will more than likely not happen. “
