Are your classes hands-on or demonstration?
Our classes are a combination of hands-on and demonstration classes. Couples classes tend to be more demonstration whereas the others are more hands-on. But no one is expected to cook if they don’t want to. You’re more than welcome to just sit and watch.
Where are you located?
Our classes take place in our home in Prince Frederick, Maryland. The only exceptions currently are our Girls Night Out & Hook to Cook classes which take place at our waterfront home in Lusby. We are a little off the beaten path – a half mile off Rt. 231/Hallowing Point Road, on an old Southern Maryland tobacco farm. Turn directly across from the Calvert County Fairgrounds onto Denton Dr. (you’ll see a sign for Harold’s Body Shop) and follow Denton Drive back all the way. You’ll see the signs for No Thyme to Cook leading you back!
We would like to arrange a private class? Can we do that?
We offer private classes all the time. And because it’s just for you – the topic can be about anything you like. If you want to learn better knife skills while making Spanish tapas, we can do that. It’s all about you!
Can we bring our own beer and wine?
Absolutely! Bring whatever you like to drink.
What is dress like for your classes?
We are very casual – no need to get dressed up, unless you want to!
Can you accommodate special dietary needs?
Absolutely! Just let us know when you sign up for a class so chef can make the necessary adjustments to the menu. We do this all the time. 🙂
What is the cost for a couples class?
Couples classes are $150/couple – so one ticket covers both of you!
Do you have to be a couple to attend a couples class?
No you do not! Occasionally we have have friends/relatives come together. There’s no rule you have to be a couple.
How many people can you have in a class?
Right now we can comfortably accommodate 12 people in class. But later this year we’ll be moving to our new kitchens on Solomons Island. They will allow for more students at one time and feature cooking stations!
